Where CadFreely can fit
Use it for a new 2D sketch, a room layout, drawing review or supported edits to a DWG/DXF file. The ribbon, command input, object snaps, layers, hatches, text, blocks and dimensions support familiar drafting workflows. Mobile controls let you review and make edits away from your desk.
AI drafting is optional. It can propose geometry and modifications within a selected target for you to preview and apply. Its allowances are separate from the free manual CAD tools.
Can I get AutoCAD for free?
If you need Autodesk's AutoCAD itself, check its official free trial or Education plan. Availability and eligibility are determined by Autodesk; an education entitlement is not a general commercial licence.
If your goal is free 2D CAD software for everyday drafting, CadFreely provides its own drawing tools in your browser. It is a separate product, not a free edition, download or licence of AutoCAD. You can use the manual tools without signing in and explore optional AI drafting with an account allowance.

- Check units, layers, text, hatches, blocks and any missing references.
- Perform the edits you actually need, including dimensions and plotting if relevant.
- Save a copy and reopen it in the application used by your team.
Large drawings, proxies, dynamic blocks and specialist application data need particular attention. CadFreely does not claim to be an AutoCAD replica or a substitute for every engineering workflow.

Comparing browser CAD fairly
AutoCAD also has a web product. Autodesk documents browser editing, sharing and markup workflows in AutoCAD Web; CadFreely does not claim browser access or client review as unique features. Native desktop clipboard interchange with AutoCAD, FreeCAD or ZWCAD is not verified in this release. Use supported DWG/DXF file exchange and validate the result in both tools.
